The Austrian Consulate in Jerusalem Is not the only Austrian consulate in the region. Keep in mind that consulates can have more or less or different consular services and that the nearest is not per definition the best for your needs. Austrian Visa and Passports - The Consulate in Jerusalem can inform you about the scope of services they offer. Always contact the consulate before a visit to inform about their specific services since not all consulates offer visa and/or passport services.

The difference between the several consulates found in a certain country are the level of powers and size of these consulates. Some consulates are the bigger consulate-general and usually can assist in a wide scope of consular matters.

Other smaller consulates are often manned by private citizens and are called honorary consulates. These honorary consulates often have limited powers and do not issue visas or passports.
